Trip report part 4

Our fourth stop was Vancouver, British Columbia. With all the trips we've taken to the west coast since moving to Calgary, it had been a while since we'd been to Vancouver. We stayed at the Westin Grand, right across the street from Library Square. This is a sleek, modern, comfortable hotel - heck the only thing I could read wrong with the place on Trip Advisor was the long wait for elevators. Everyone has their gripes I guess, but the elevator was no issue for us. We had a suite on the 20th floor and had a fantastic view of downtown.

There were a lot of parts of downtown I wanted to check out, but we didn't have a lot of time, nor the stamina to walk to each place. I stumbled across The Big Bus, a tour bus that takes you through all the notable neighbourhoods: Gastown; Chinatown; the Waterfront; Robson Street; Granville Island; Stanley Park and English Bay. It makes 20 stops along the route and you can get on and off the bus at any of the stops at your leisure. One of the stops was...... at Library Square! How convenient for us. The tickets are not cheap at $34 per person, but they are valid for 24 hours. For anyone looking to cover a lot of territory in a short amount of time, this is your best bet. The only area the bus didn't cover was only a couple blocks from our hotel - Yaletown. So it worked out really well.

The picture is Darlene at English Bay.

That's it for the trip reports. Check out my Flickr page to see more select photos from the trip, including some panorama shots.
I can only add so many per month with the free account, so be patient and look back in future as well.
