It's big

The massive fire that forced the evacuation of Fort McMurray and surrounding areas is massive.

As of 29 May, it's almost 580,000 hectares big (perimeter).

As you can see from the map, that's almost long enough to span from Edmonton to Red Deer.

Letter health grades for restaurants

While we were in San Diego, Darlene noticed that every place that serves food had a giant letter displayed in their window.

Upon further investigation, we found out that by law, the valid, current, department of environmental health inspection grade assessed to each eatery has to be displayed in the window. If it's not, they can be heavily fined or closed down.

I like this. We should do something like this in Calgary or even Alberta.
