If restaurants had the same attitude about food as the oil cartel does about gas prices, they would raise prices of everything on the menu right at mealtimes........ because the demand for food goes up significantly at mealtime. We certainly wouldn't want to run out of food - would we?
I recall paying $1.15 per litre for gas a month ago, justified (according to the oil cartel) because the summer driving season reduces the available supply. Now that the summer driving season is over, gas prices have plummeted to $0.92 per litre..... and may continue falling. I really don't think the price of gas has anything to do with supply. I don't know anyone who adjusted their gas use habit as a result of the higher price, yet I also never heard of any gas stations running out of gas, so the supply issue must have been just a lot of hooey. I bet the oil cartel made a tidy profit this summer though hey? Not that I'm against profit. But let's at least be straight with the customer.
