Deep into the music

Our local classic rock radio station Q107 is having a contest inviting listeners to submit a TV commercial for the station. Having neither the resources nor the talent to put such a video together, I thought I'd tell you what I'd have produced if I had the means to pull it off. Remember the opening sequence in the movie "Contact"? It's very similar:

An astronaut is seated in the cockpit at the controls of a spaceship in earth's orbit. She pushes the throttle forward to full speed and the earth disappears behind the ship as it gains speed. Planets and moons whoosh by and she reaches for the "ship stereo" and turns it on. All the planets have been passed and it is clear we have left the solar system. On the radio we hear current pop music (Brittney), which fades out and is replaced by 90's music (Madonna), which fades out and is replaced by 80's new wave music (Cyndi Lauper), which fades out and is replaced by 70's classic rock (Heart - in particular, the opening for Heartless) - at which point she grabs the throttle and eases back to a slow coast so she can keep listening to this awesome music for a while. Fade in the Q107 logo......and cut!

If anyone from Calgary wants to use that in their entry - be my guest. Posted by Hello
