I would like to get my reader's thoughts on this 1952 ad for Philip Morris cigarettes, starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
Aside from the fact that these two actors are being used to promote smokes (very common back in the day), is there anything about this ad that stands out for any of you?
Please chime in using the comments.

Hmm, Ricky was obviously holding a cigarette and it has been airbrushed or photoshopped out.

I still see the cigarette (faintly), but I think you're right about one thing, there is a lot of airbrushing going on. That's not what struck me though. What do you think of the makeup jobs?
They seem to look very preserved, almost plastic. Must be the nicotine.
I believe early TV broadcast required heavy make up in order to show well on black and white. Yeah, now that you mention it I can see the cigarette very faintly.
