This could be a game changer in so many ways. Light-emitting wallpaper may begin to replace light bulbs starting in 2012. A chemical coating on walls could illuminate an entire room with an even glow, mimicking sunlight and avoiding the shadows and glare of normal bulbs.The voltage needed will be very low, making it possible to light an entire house using energy stored from solar cells and the walls will be cool and safe to touch. The OLED technology would be two and a half times more efficient than even energy saving bulbs.
