The ultimate power trip

It seems the IOC (International Olympic Committee) thinks it owns the copyright on all things Olympic. Oh and I mean all things. This includes.... wait for it.... all photographs of any Olympic venue. Even ones taken by you. That's right, the IOC is sending take-down notices to photographers who have posted their personal photos of Olympic venues on sites like Flickr.

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

Found at boingboing.

The IOC has always missed the message about the world participating and by this I mean they should have created their very OWN IOC Olympics channel 24/7. EVERY competition leading up to and past each Olympics could be covered and endlessly rerun with commercials and actually MAKE OLYMPIC MONEY. G'bye American Less Than Complete Network Coverage.

I've been to several Olympic venue sights and taken photos, do I have to give those up too?

Now that you've admitted to such a dastardly act, the IOC police will be at your door shortly. j/k

I like that word 'dastardly'....
