It seems that (some of) Canada finally has Google Streetview in Google Maps. How would you like to guess what I did first?
Of course! I went directly to my house in Calgary. It's there! I know.... of course it's there.... but it was weird to see it. On the internet. From multiple angles. Even my car is parked out front. Based on the look of the picture, I'd have to say the Google car came through my neighbourhood in May of this year.
Next, I went to my sister Heidi's house (yep - it's there), then my brother Rob's (ditto) and finally my home in Deux Montagnes where I spent my teenage years (Mom still lives there)(pictured). The house I lived in from when I was 6 until 12 is gone, replaced by a much bigger house.
It's kind of surreal seeing your house on Google, no?
Bonus material: My friend Ernest commented that "it's bad timing if you go outside in your PJs to pickup the mail or whatever, and you are, for the foreseeable future, immortalized in Google Maps Street View."
