What is it - edition 10

Time for another edition of 'what is it?'.

I'll let a few people give it a go before any hints are given.

[Update] Any takers before I call it? Royce almost had it before she gave up....... (that should do it)

A photo of ice taken at a microscopic level.

That's not it..... you wouldn't have gotten this picture with a microscope. I think that qualifies as the first hint.....

Well then, how about a super duper long shot of the surface of Jupiter.

Geez is it a shot of one of the MOONS of Jupiter, IO? Ganymede?
I ran out of names. Royce

It looks like the surface of one of those rubber gym balls... but I guess that doesn't depict planet size!

If I said any more, I'd give it away.

A close up shot of a gym ball on far far away Jupiter?

Karl Plesz said...

And by 'gym ball', you mean 'moon', right?

So, is it a picture of Earth's moon from GoogleMoon?

just posting what the site says.

"The following image is a view of a small region of the thin, disrupted ice crust in the Conamara region of Jupiter's moon Europa showing the interplay of surface colors with ice structures."
