You know, if I hadn't seen this on a trustworthy site, I wouldn't have believed it.
In the UK, police are deploying CCTV cameras in Smart cars to keep an eye on drivers at intersections etc. Anyone seen driving while distracted is captured by the camera. You know - things like eating while driving, playing with the radio or applying make-up. Anyone caught using their cell phone will have to pay £60 (CAD$108) with demerits. Fines could also be handed out to anyone who is thought to be driving without due care and attention, or similar offences.
