Enjoying the time off

For a person who doesn't have to go to work every morning, I'm sure spending a lot of time at home. So Darlene and I decided to hit the road today and head south to Nanton. They have great antique stores and an awesome candy store (more about that later).

First we headed to Vulcan. Not the planet - the town. And that's me posing in front of the Enterprise a Star Trek inspired starship. Hey - had to do it.

Next it was on to Nanton. Darlene was more into the antique stores than I, but it was the famous candy store I was looking forward to. I was not disappointed. Lots of great stuff you can't get anywhere else. I think they sell every conceivable kind of gum there is. Darlene found her (sold in the US only) Nutrageous bars, so that made her day. Normally there are only the basic kinds of Altoids mints in our stores, but this store had them all - even chocolate Altoids. Pop rocks? Got 'em. Thrills gum? Got 'em too. I left with a bag of salt water taffy and some assorted sweets. We'll be going back.
