The picture has nothing to do with the post

Darlene and I were out and about downtown Vancouver today - the sun was out! I still seem to have the power to make the sun come out on my visits here. I don't know if it's my Vancouver bias tinting my perceptions, but this place sure makes Calgary seem conservative by comparison. Vancouverites sure know how to let their freak flag fly.

I don't know if you have ventured outside of the downtown core but it becomes more apparent that Vancouver has many sides when you go to places like Commercial Drive or Deep Cove or the Mount Pleasant (Main St + 25th). This is why I love this city. It's diversity on crack. As well it's a true melting pot because the different cultures, social and economical groups truly mingle. The ones that do not like or enjoy this diversity move away because you can not escape it.

Vancouver is home for me.

I certainly can't argue any of that. Don't get me wrong - I think the diversity is fantastic. Vancouver truly is a wonderful place.
