Wedded bliss

You will not hear me say this often, but I have to salute something the minority Conservative Canadian Government did today. They put to all Members whether they wanted to see legislation drafted to reinstate the traditional definition of marriage, while respecting the existing marriages of gays and lesbians. The motion failed 175-123.

I salute them because they did in fact come through on yet another campaign promise, even though it was doomed to failure. Finally, I'm glad it was doomed to failure and now maybe we can put this over-debated issue to rest.
