So - term one of my acting class is over. Time for the report. I must admit, I had no idea what to expect from this class, but it turned out to be very different than what I had imagined. The topics and material were very conceptual. We spent a lot of time covering things like form, content, meaning, improvisation and much more. The class started with 20 people, but only finished 12 weeks later with 9. I can't speak for the ones who left, but I think the class didn't meet their expectations. Stuff happens.
As for me, I learned a lot. I had no idea what acting was about and this class gave me a nice little teaser taste of the art. Heck, Tuesday night was the first time I've been on stage in front of an audience since grade 3. So far - so good. Bring on term two. By the time it starts up in mid January, I'm sure I'll be going through severe withdrawal symptoms.
