Something for free

Paint.NET v2.1 is image and photo manipulation software designed to be used on computers that run Windows 2000 or newer. It started development as an undergraduate senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is being maintained by some alumni. It's meant to replace MS Paint that comes with Windows. Paint.net is free yet has many of the powerful features that expensive commercial applications have.
