Facebook privacy policies can make anyone smile :)

We provide a free browser plugin that let's you use Facebook but still preserve your privacy, by CLOAKing those parts of your postings you want to keep private. Facebook isn’t affected and this approach works independently of any Privacy Settings.

Just pick a keyword, select which part of your posting you want to keep private, and encrypt it. You still post as normal, and Facebook isn't affected. Only people who you've shared your keyword with can read the CLOAKed parts of your postings. Neither Facebook nor its advertising partners know what you are posting.

CloakGuard offers a free Firefox plugin and online tool to help you do this.
