Mon dieu! C'est la fogue!

I don't know what's going on, but Calgary's been experiencing some weird-assed weather in the last month or so. In a word - fog. I've never seen so much fog in this city before.

So, thanks to the fog, I got to see an other-wordly sight usually reserved for those in an aircraft. On my way to work this morning, I drove through a part of the northwest quadrant of the city that is elevated above most of the rest of the city. It was fog-free, or sans fogue as we sometimes say. OK fine, we don't really say that. It would be more like sans brouillard, if we used the proper French - which we don't.

Anyway, driving... elevated... other-worldly... suddenly I see it. It's the same view you get when you're high above the clouds in an aircraft. But I'm in my car. So it looked cool. The various tall antenna masts and the smoke stacks from the power plant added to the effect, as they poked through the clouds.... errr... fog. That, combined with the beautiful dawn colours of the sky, made for a beautiful sight.

P.S.: Provided photo is not of Calgary. I believes it is Vancouver.

Very pretty picture, I have lived with winter fog inversions in a small valley most of my growing up years. The absolutely WORST fog is when it is very thick ground fog and only comes up to the top of the hood of the car, clear blue sky above, you are driving through cotton and CANNOT see the road, very nasty, worth staying home for the day.
