Pardon me if this sounds a little like a broken record:Joe Consumer: Oil prices have gone down continually for the past number of months, yet gas prices remain high. Why is that?
Bob Shell: Well, we’re still processing the expensive oil that we bought months ago.
JC: So.... once the expensive oil runs out, gas prices should come down?
BS: Yes.
Fast forward 6 months
JC: Oil prices just rose and yet gas prices jumped up to match almost instantly. Don’t you guys still have a bunch of cheap oil to process into gasoline?
BS: [silence]
JC: Hello....?
