How can you tell if I'm being sarcastic?

A company in Michigan has invented what they hope will become a brand new character used in typing - the SarcMark. The SarcMark is a new character (see picture) used to denote sarcasm in a sentence. Great idea. Except for a couple of show-stopping factors.

They want money from you to use it. Sure it's only $1.99, but since when did we need to start paying for individual font characters? I think this is setting a really bad precedent. They should be selling the mark to those that own the rights to fonts, that way we get the mark for free with every font. Also, I'm not convinced that making people pay for a character is the way to get everyone using it.

Just my thoughts.
