Orbits

If you ever wanted to see how the planets orbit around the sun in relation to each other (in real time), then you've got to check out this site. Be sure to play with the slider controls so you can zoom in and out of the breadth of our solar system, you can speed up or slow down time and advance forward or backward to see how the planet will be aligned on a certain date, or perhaps see when Mars will be closest to Earth next.

For example, I zoomed in until only the inner planets were visible and could see that the next time Mars will be the closest it can be to Earth will be at the end of January 2010.

It's very well done.
