The first mass-produced all-electric consumer car in Canada is.... [drum roll]The new Nissan Leaf. Quick specs: 160km (100miles) per charge, up to 140km/h (87mph). Takes 16 hours to recharge using a standard 120VAC plug, or 8 hours using a 220VAC plug. It will retail for $30,000. It will offer remote control & monitoring of the car using a cellphone connection through Nissan's secure data centre.
I would seriously buy one. I already have a 220VAC outlet in my garage. I'm ready dammit!
