I absolutely love this article about how the entertainment industry has spent decades freaking about practically every new technology that was invented, claiming that it would destroy copyright, the industry, or both. They've demanded restrictions on player pianos, photocopiers, VCRs, home taping, DAT, MP3 players, Napster, the DVR, digital radio, and digital TV - so far, and provided grandiose predictions of why the restrictions were needed.
For the record, none of the predictions came true. Yet governments continue to listen to their sob stories.
