See-through solar cells.... as windows

This technology sounds like it's more suited to hot climates, but a new generation of solar cells being developed in Australia can be used as windows - glass walls even. Dyesol is developing transparent solar cells that act as both windows and energy generators in houses or commercial buildings. The cells would make a big difference to energy costs and could generate excess electricity. The glass has a faint reddish colour but is transparent. The cells can not only power a home but also reduce overheating, reducing air conditioning requirements.
