Law usurped by technology in days flat

There's been some activity regarding France's attempt at a '3 strikes' law to disconnect folks from the internet if they're accused of (unsubstantiated) copyright infringement online.

The HADOPI law was initially defeated in the French parliament, but passed on reintroduction. It was halted on the grounds that it violated human rights. But their president reintroduced HADOPI with a provision that only a judge could order an account termination. It passed.

In what can only be described as a perfect example of technological oneupmanship, hackers have constructed a HADOPI WiFi router upgrade (via firmware) that cracks nearby WiFi network passwords and routes your traffic through them at random, creating false trails leading to your neighbours instead of you.

All anyone would have to do at this point is claim they were the innocent victim of a HADOPI router and it would be 'case dismissed'.
