Driver rant part two

What the driver manual must contain based on today's driving habits (continued):
Part one (in case you missed it, is here)

Vehicle lights use up a lot of electricity - power better suited to your car stereo, 12V beer cooler, etc. So when brake lights and headlights burn out, best not to replace them right away. Even if you don't use any of these things, keep in mind that producing electricity for all these lights is a load on your car and uses more gas. So think about using less electricity in your car as your way of going 'green'. Having two brake and headlights are a perfect example of built-in system redundancy. You only really need one to function on the road. For vehicles with eye-level brake lights in the back window - even better - you have triple redundancy! Tip: Don't use this excuse to explain burnt out brake lights to the police. They don't appreciate 'green' things. In fact, they don't even believe in global warming.

Leaving a safety gap between you and the next vehicle in front is a terrible waste of road space. This is precisely one of the things that leads to congested roadways. You can do your part by closing the gap and riding the person in front as close as possible. Think of it as 'road cuddling'. This has numerous additional benefits, such as sharpening your reaction times when the front vehicle slows down or stops. You can also see an increase in fuel economy by letting the front vehicle break the wind for you.
