Let's say you were considering buying Photoshop, but you were curious if there were other alternatives that might also fill the bill - maybe even for free. Well my friends, such a web site exists! It's called AlternativeTo. I plugged in Media Player (which comes with Windows) and it suggested no less than 14 alternatives, including VLC (my favourite), Songbird, Foobar2000, Winamp (another fave - pictured - the old school version) and many more. Each suggestion also shows what operating systems the alternative is available for. So keeping with the media player example, VLC is a great choice for folks using more than one operating system in their lives, because it is available for Windows, Mac and Linux.Awesome site.
