You don't have to agree. I know most of you talk on your phones while you drive. I've done it a few times myself.OK, so here's the deal. We're surgically attached to our phones now, so it's going to be pretty difficult to get people not to talk on their phones whenever and wherever they want. But if it isn't already known, it's probably going to be shortly, that talking on a phone while driving impairs your awareness of what's going on around you. In almost every case when I see a driver making dangerous or erratic moves on the road, it's because they have a cell phone attached to their face.
Don't get me wrong - I think outlawing cell phone use in the vehicle is overkill. I think a compromise is in order. I don't see anything wrong with answering the phone while you're driving. I do see something wrong with letting the conversation last more than half a minute. It would be too easy to say something like, "I'm driving right now, let me call you back." Then you pull over somewhere to continue the conversation.
Yeah, who am I kidding.........
