
California passed a law that makes it illegal for a gift card to expire (because that's just weasle-ly). Alberta has a similar law now too. Anyway, someone tried to use what is clearly marked as a 'gift card' issued by Ticketmaster, but the code had expired. Indicating that this is against California law, Ticketmaster responded by calling the gift card a 'discount card', thereby circumventing the law. Notice that they actually refer to it as a gift card in their response. They refuse to give the customer their money back.
