It looks like Canada has its share of PWNBTD (police with nothing better to do - I'm hoping the acronym catches on). In Montreal (the suburb of Laval actually), a woman was fined for not obeying the sign and holding the handrail on an escalator going into a subway station. The transit cops themselves were quick to say 'it wasn't us, dude'.
