Ich bin der Deutsch Abstammung

I ran across this amazing map of Ancestry by largest population (by county) in the US. Of interest is that many people in the deep south consider themselves 'American' by ancestry, which is odd. Italians are concentrated in the north-east, the Finnish are all by Lake Superior, the Norwegians are in the most northern states, most of Utah consider themselves 'English'. Most notable though is the huge swath of the country considering themselves predominately of German ancestry.
