I don't spend much time in fast food outlets anymore. Subway has probably seen me most often, averaging maybe two times a month. I have never visited a Taco Time or Taco Bell. Burger King may have seen me twice in 20 years. Wendy's or Harvey's might get a visit once every six months or less. McDonald's - I don't even know what they sell anymore. Until today.
Today, I had to teach an all-day class and barely had an hour for lunch, so I decided to go to a place close by. McDonald's was close. So I ordered one of their 'special' Angus burgers. I'm confused. I don't see how this burger is any better than anything else they sell. It was barely warm and it had come right from the preparation table. It was...... I'm trying to think of the right word here.....
Insulting. That's the word that fits. It's like they don't even try to make good food anymore.
For the same price that I paid for that uninspiring disgrace to the hamburger world (with no side), I could have gotten a real burger... piping hot... with some fresh cut home-made fries included from Rocky's Burger Bus (assuming I had time and they were open). Now that would have been worth $5.
