Flights in a 24 hour period

Here's a neat little video showing the pattern of flights around the world over a 24 hour period.

The still is in the middle of the night in the Americas, which is why the yellow seems sparse. If you watch it enough, you begin to notice a pattern of flights across the oceans in each direction based on whether day is starting or ending on either side of the ocean.
