I know I've mentioned the Burj Dubai skyscraper before. Originally they claimed it would reach one kilometre into the sky but it's only topping out at about 800 metres or 2625 feet (only....).Here's a site devoted to it's progress. On 7 September 2007, it passed Canada's CN Tower as the world's tallest freestanding structure on land. The picture on the left shows how little is left to build. It stands at 180 floors today. It will be finished in about a year. Here's a video of the progress.
Little did I know, there's supposedly going to be an even taller building in Dubai , reaching up to 1400 metres (4600 feet)! That will be bizarre...... once they make up their minds.
