Drinking in history

Yesterday, my good friend Bernie introduced me to what is touted as the oldest alcoholic beverage known to humankind - mead.

Mead is made from honey. I had never tried it before and I have to admit, it's pretty hard not to tell it comes from honey even though the brand we had is fairly dry - it is so smooth. They picked it up at Chinook Arch Meadery in Okotoks. We sampled the Melissa's Gold Mead.

T'was yummish.
