Our household typically does a lot of catalogue shopping through Sears. Darlene recently told me that Sears now charges a fee to place a catalogue order over and above the price of the item. I found this kind of odd, but to my great surprise, I also discovered that if you pick up a catalogue order and return it for any reason, you don't get your fee back. In our last order (Darlene swears she will order from Sears no more), the reason the item was returned is due to incorrect size - which is their fault because the size was quite inaccurate. No matter.
So, I'm thinking..... in an economy that is faltering, is it a good idea to start nickel and diming your customers with bogus fees? Feel free to discuss...............
