Better luck next year boys.....

Well....... [sulk].......... the season is over for my beloved Montreal Canadiens. Unlike some fans of some other hockey teams I know of (who shall remain nameless), I am not bitter. The Habs put on a great regular season, fooling all the pundits in the process. As far as I'm concerned, they have nothing to be ashamed of. I truly enjoyed it while it lasted.

Honestly, I think this sets the perfect stage for their next season, when they'll be celebrating their 100th anniversary as a hockey team.

Yeah.

Mr. Zoom's favorite team is the Avalanche, and they got booted too. So we were rooting for the Habs as back up team (we're retarded, we know it). Soon we will just be watching for the pure joy of watching ice hockey - Since the Sharks may/may not stay alive much longer either. It's nice to have your team stay in it, but even if that's can't happen - I just dig ice hockey in general.

On our last trip to L.A., we stopped in Anaheim, to make a delivery for a guy I befriended online who had been looking for some treats only available in Canada ( a special series of Smarties candy for those of you wandering into the gutter). He went on and on about his family's love for hockey (playing and watching), which caught me off guard a little. I know there are hockey fans in California, but I didn't expect the dedication to be so strong in a place famous for more outdoor exploits and its other sports teams.

Now that Montreal is out, I don't know who I'll be cheering for yet. I'd rather the Stanley Cup went to a team that hasn't won in a while. Considering that Philly sent 2 teams known for their scoring packing in the first two series, I think they might have a chance.
