I'm on my 4th set of glasses since I started wearing glasses.So I was a little surprised that this time around was the 1st time I got asked, "Do you want those glasses made as distance glasses, intermediate glasses or reading glasses?"
I had no idea what to answer until they explained it to me. Now I'm glad they asked. And curious why nobody ever asked before.....

They can modify your prescription for the glasses to be suited primarily to reading, distance viewing (such as driving) or intermediate (arm's length or further away).
