Eclectic. It's one of my favourite words. I use it to describe my taste in music, movies and more. Today I had a chance to see another film that falls into that category. Meaning - I loved it.
Romance and Cigarettes. A film by John Turturro. Watching it, I was amazed at the cast. James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet (my secret dream date - don't tell Darlene), Mary Louise Parker, Steve Buscemi, Mandy Moore, and Christopher freakin' Walken (as his usual eclectic self). It's a musical. Which almost disqualifies itself from my list of movies I would like right off the bat. But it's so corny. That means good. Did I mention it has Kate Winslet? As a smoking hot redhead having an affair with the dad / husband character played by Gandolfini.
This movie is funny. The dance sequences are witty. Mary Louise Parker almost steals the show as one of the daughters. Unfortunately, her scenes are few. Of course Christopher Walken is as goofy as ever. This is a sleeper hit. Almost didn't see the light of day. I highly recommend it to lift your spirits.

Buscemi is cool. Any movie with him in is usually good
