Big!

How big is the universe. Oh..... it's big. Nova begins to delve into the theories of how big the universe is at this web page. If your brain can handle the possibilities, it makes for a tantalizing read.

Infinite numbers of places, beyond our view and outside of our time. Other universes, each in its own space and begun in its own time. It boggles the mind it does.....

I watched a perfectly serious show called "Universe" The general topic was to explain how Einstein's Universal Field Theory had been proven by some math involving computing 11 or 13 dimensions. (what comes next after the basic four, I forget). They also slipped in something called M or Membrane theory. Membranes are infinite in number and separated by very very very small distances. If two membranes accidentally bump you get the big bang. Sounded good to me, but I certainly don't understand the math involved that says it all exists. Sheesh.
