100 things in 100 days - number 34

34. I love teaching.

It might be related to the fact that I love an audience, but I really do love to explain stuff to people. It all started back in the military, while I was attending a rather in depth technology course. The class just wasn't getting a certain concept and I tuned out the instructor to see if I could figure it out on my own. I could and then volunteered to show the class just how simple the concepts could be (on our own time - my last desire was to make the instructor look bad). That's when I knew. I have a knack for simplifying complex topics, distilling them into something people can understand. And I love using analogies. I taught in the military for more than 7 years (that's me in 1987 in front of the classroom). Once I retired from the military, I got a job teaching technology for 3 years and currently teach on the side for Chinook Learning Services, not to mention that I develop and deliver training as part of my current day job.

Maybe it's in the genes, because my sister Heidi is a teacher too.

You look very teacherous. If there were such a word.
Today I thought of you while at the drag races - they (whoever they are) decided to honor Canada by play the national anthem. Evidently we had quite a few enteries from your motherland.
Oh Canada!!!

Do you guys have turkey legs for sale at your drag races, or is that just a Carolina thing?

Not a turkey leg to be found. Mostly hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos and popcorn.
