Things about Finland:

* Finland is slightly smaller than Montana (or half the size of Alberta if you're Canadian)
* Finland has compulsory military service (for men only)
* Finland is the 3rd most sparsely populated country in Europe (led by Norway and Iceland)
* More than 80% of Finnish families own a lake or island where they have a summer cottage (there are 190,000 lakes)
* Most people have a suana
* Forest covers 75% of the land
* Finland has the most mobile phones and the most email addresses per capita of any nation in the world
* The president of Finland and the mayor of Helsinki are women. Finland was first to give women the vote
* In terms of environmental sustainability, Finland ranks #1
* Juhannus, the Finnish Midsummer festival, involves burning a large bonfire and drunken revelry
* Finland is the least corrupt country in the world
* The captain of the Montreal Canadiens is from Turku Finland

Don't forget about the best goalie in the NHL.....he plays for my Flames. He is also from Turku
