97. I gave up on shampoo - soap on everything!
It's true. I suppose it started with military conditioning (not conditioner). When you're on exercise, you don't get a lot of opportunities to get to a real shower and when you do, time (and hot water) is limited. So eliminating shampoo was more of an efficiency measure. On days when I could shower more leisurely - in the barracks, I just felt that shampoo left too much goop in my hair. I don't like goop in my hair. I would later find out from my wise young hair stylist step-daughter that Pantene doesn't qualify as shampoo so much as it qualifies as goop. Quality shampoo apparently doesn't leave you feeling like that. But my ways were set for life. Darlene doesn't mind, it means she doesn't have to worry about me using up her exotic hair tonics.
