95. I miss 70's FM radio. Not so much the music - the lack of crap commercialism.
Seriously. FM radio in the 1970s was awesome. The on air personalities knew their stuff. They always had a piece of obscure trivia or news about the artists they played. The contests were few and far in between. Advertising didn't last more than a minute or two, then it was back to the music. Some songs lasted over 10 minutes. Each! I grew up on CHOM-FM in Montreal. If you needed something fresh, you could always tune into CKOI-FM, the French rock station, which had a slew of great French rockers and folk artists worthy of any English station. I couldn't afford my own music collection as a kid, so the radio was never far away. Imagine living your formative years with the likes of Pink Floyd, Harmonium (Fr), the Eagles, April Wine, Led Zeppelin, Offenbach (Fr), Steve Miller, Rush, Styx, Max Webster, Supertramp, the Beatles and the Stones and so many more......... long before you had heard their tunes 500+ times.
