We're going back to the moon anyway....

I'm always interested in the slew of opinions about energy and how we should be producing it while preserving our environment. I've read that the heralded new hydrogen economy is a sham because there really is no free hydrogen to use as fuel - in fact we'll end up using more energy separating hydrogen from other atoms than it can give back to us.

So I'm starting to think maybe we should give nuclear energy another look. Of course, the biggest problem with nuclear energy is all the waste by product we have to deal with. Well, I have a solution. We should ship our nuclear waste to the moon. While we're at it, we should send our prisoners up there too. That way, when the inevitable explosion knocks the moon out of its orbit around the Earth and hurtling off into space like they foretold in Space 1999, those bad ol' convicts will be out of our hair once and for all.

Of course I'm kidding..... It's a flawed idea. Once the moon is gone, we'd have no place to send the prisoners anymore...
