Only Dave could get a flash from Drew Barrymore
Tonight marks the 25th anniversary of the Late Show with David Letterman. Love him or hate him (I fall into the former category), he certainly turned late night TV on its ear by showing respect to guests that deserved it and using dry sarcasm on guests who deserved it. Stupid Pet Tricks, the Top Ten list and things like throwing watermelons off rooftops are only a tease of the numerous contributions his show made to our culture. Disappointed that NBC did not choose him to replace Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show (a huge mistake IMHO), he will end up getting the last laugh, as Jay Leno will retire long before Letterman does.
