Yes! Another post about food!

Not one to rest on our laurels, we decided to try out yet another new food resource today - this time at 103-1022 17th Ave SW (The Avenue). It's a new hot dog joint called Tubby Dog. The dogs are messy, not gourmet. Some combinations:
  • PBJ - Peanut butter and jelly – add Captain Crunch cereal for a captain’s dog.
  • Sumo – Japanese mayo, wasabi, pickled ginger, lightly toasted sesame seeds.
  • Sherm’s Ultimate Gripper – the dog is bacon-wrapped then deep-fried and topped with ham, homemade chili, cheese, mustard, bacon, hot peppers, onions and a fried egg.
  • Tubby Dog (Truch’s creation) – mustard, homemade chili, sautéed onions, bacon bits and cheese.
  • D’Jewel’s Ultrafine – horseradish mayo, mustard, sriracha (Chinese hot sauce).
Their fries are unique too. Tubby fries are basically huge potato chips, but tender, like fries. If you ever find yourself hungry for a messy hot dog, even late at night, give them a try. Their take-out window is open til 4am on Friday and Saturday (well, technically, Saturday and Sunday).
