Speaking of the US, Americans have a habit that we notice every time we go stateside. Whenever we're in a store or restaurant and say "Thank you", most Americans respond with "mm - hmm." What's up with that? Are they unfamiliar with the phrase "you're welcome"? Or is that too much trouble to say? I just don't get it....
