1984 is here - it just came later than we thought

Want something to chat about at the water cooler? Think back to any situation where you're being served by someone and they give you a hard time. Some people would suggest that the root cause of this behavior is the simple knowledge that you can act the way you want if nobody else is watching. Which poses the Orwellian question: How would service improve - heck, how would behavior in general improve, if it were likely to be caught on camera?

There will come a time when being able to (even surreptitiously) video anything anywhere will be more commonplace than still cameras are today. And even though workplaces trying to protect their secrets and other venues that wish to protect your privacy are striving to ban things like phones with cameras - this will prove fruitless when video cameras become standard options in things from phones to watches to sunglasses.
