I would like to see a company like
Zipcar develop a business model for people who chose to buy and keep a reasonably sized car. Us folks have the perfect car for day to day commuting but do not have room to transport bulky items. We could become a member of a neighbourhood truck / van co-op. This way we could rent the big rig only when we need it. This is not only a common sense solution, it would help save a ton of gas and parking space at our homes as well as reduce pollution. How many people buy an SUV or a pickup, not because they need a vehicle that size every day, but for the 20 times a year that they buy stuff at Ikea, Home Depot or Toys R Us?
