AAARRRGGHHH!

I'm watching the grocery bill tally up on the big checkout display at Safeway today. There's a deposit fee for containers that can be brought back for a refund. Now, there's also a recycle levy. Wait a second - if we're paying a recycle levy on things at the grocery store, why are we then also paying a recycle fee on our City utility bills? When will this madness end? Can we not just pay one stinking fee and get it over with? Did nobody listen to me when I suggested that the deposit fee should be enough to offset the cost of recycling as long as we agree we don't get it back? Fees on levies on fees on taxes on fees. Government smoke and mirrors.

I'm getting tired of it. [breath Karl..... breath]

On a slightly unrelated note, we just had our first curb-side recycling pickup today. It was freaking marvellous.....
